Margaret M Lancaster

Margaret Marie Lancaster, 99, of Inverness, FL passed away at her assisted living residence in Inverness, on August 3rd, 2020. She was born to the late Wright and Ethel (Dearden) Madill on May 21st, 1921 in Toronto, Canada and she grew up in Keego Harbor, Michigan. She married her beloved husband, Norman, on May 1st, 1942 and in 1954, she and her husband moved to Dunedin, FL where they lived for many years. Marie and Norman later moved to Floral City in 1984 and then finally, made one more move to Inverness, FL where she lived the remainder of her life. Marie was a devoted wife and mother, working as a homemaker and serving her family and her children as her children grew up.
Marie will be remembered for her love of bowling, boating, traveling, and Bridge. She will also be remembered for all of her volunteer work, which included serving on the Pinellas County Girl Scout Council, serving as President of Clearwater Altrusa Club, and serving at the Citrus Memorial Hospital as their longest volunteer, where she served for 20+ years.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Norman, who passed away on March 18th, 2005; her two brothers, Donald and James; and her sister, Bernice Maun. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Gary Lancaster of Tallahassee and Joanne Shinkman of Radcliff, Kentucky; her 3 grandchildren; and her 8 great-grandchildren. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all who got the privilege of meeting her.
Marie will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery of Bushnell, FL, under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
