Nancy L Smallwood

Nancy Louise Smallwood of Inverness, FL passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital on July 27, 2020 at the age of 83. Nancy was born in Praise, KY on February 1, 1937 to the late Jesse and Harriett (Wright) Bryant. She was married to her husband Johnny Scott Smallwood for 42 years until his passing on May 3, 1999. Nancy and her husband made Citrus County their home in 1978 after relocating from Summersville, WV. She was a Christian by faith and attended worship services at the Inverness Church of God.

Prior to retirement, Nancy was employed as the Food Service Manager at Citrus Memorial Hospital for 19 years. In her spare time she enjoyed making bead necklaces and playing solitaire. Nancy was a caregiver by nature. Not only did she care for both her husband and son prior to their passing but, she also was a dedicated caregiver for many friends over the years.

Those left to mourn Nancy’s passing include her son, Johnny Smallwood; grandson, Justin Smallwood; and great grandson, Easton Smallwood. In addition to her husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Robert Kevin Smallwood; and sisters: Evelyn Tuttle and Ruth Frady.

A Funeral Service of Remembrance is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 11:30 AM from the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home and will be conducted by Pastor David Lucas of the Inverness Church of God. Following the chapel service, a committal service will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at 1:00 PM. Arrangements are under the care of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
