Lenore R Cowles

Lenore R. Cowles, age 91, of St. Simons, Georgia, formally of Citrus County, FL passed away on July 27th, 2020 at her home. She was born to the late Donhan and Louise (Stephenson) Watkins in Columbus, OH on February 4th, 1929. Lenore graduated from college with her Bachelor’s degree from Ohio State where she went on to work as a teacher. In 1996, she made Citrus County her home after moving from St. Pete, FL.
Along with her parents, Lenore is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Thomas, who passed away on May 20th, 2012. Those left to cherish Lenore’s memory are her two sons, Christopher Alan (Ruth) Cowles and Jeffrey David (Cindy) Cowles of St. Simons, GA and her brother, Marvin Watkins.
Private burial arrangements will be held at Florida National Cemetery of Bushnell, FL at a later date, under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL. In lieu of flowers, Lenore’s wishes were that memorial donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation at http://www.michaeljfox.com or to Georgia Hospice Center at http://ghchospice.com.
