James “Jim” C. DeVerna, age 73, of Toledo,OH passed away suddenly on July 12, 2020 in Inverness, FL where he lived from October to June since 2015. Jim was born in Toledo, OH on Sept 1, 1946 to the late Clyde and Betty (North) DeVerna and moved to this area in 2015. He was retired, having being a Refuse Truck Driver for over 40 years for the City of Toledo, Ohio. James also served our country in the U.S. Army. He was Lutheran by faith and a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his loving wife, Robin (Romans) DeVerna of 49 years; 2 sons: Brian DeVerna of Northwood, OH, and Benjamin DeVerna of Toledo, OH; 4 brothers; his sister; 4 granddaughters: Kelcee, Hailey, Britney and Olivia; 1 grandson, Stephen; 2 great grandsons: Javier and Jaxon.
Jim loved his Pontoon Boat, fishing, and being out on the water. He also loved his friends at “Wild Wings” Campground in Oak Harbor, OH that he has known the past 21 years. His friends were his main reason for going North for a few months in the summer.
Cremation with care is under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
