William B. Albro, 71, Inverness, FL
William Beattie Albro (“Wild Bill”) passed away at home Tuesday May 12, 2020, under the care of his loving wife and HPH Hospice. He was born March 22,1949, the second son and fourth of six children born to John I. Albro, Jr. and Gertrude (Gifford) Albro. He grew up in West Greenwich, Rhode Island where he served as a Police Constable and was a Past Commander of the VFW. He worked in construction with his father in the Lake Mishnock and West Greenwich area and later worked at Star City Glass in Coventry. He proudly served his country in the US Army. A Veteran of the Vietnam War, having served two tours of duty as a helicopter crew chief, and was a victim of Agent Orange. His hobbies included restoring his ‘55 Chevrolet, riding his Harley and watching NASCAR until the loss of the late, great Dale Earnhardt. He was into all things electronic, computers, smart TVs and more. He married Tanya (Ligon) almost 48 years ago on September 2, 1972. They owned property and visited family in Inverness for many years and finally became permanent residents in 2012. He was predeceased by a sister Barbara Jean in 1952, his father in 2000, his mother in 2001 and his older brother Richard in 2010. Besides Tanya he is survived by his three sisters; Doris Graska, Inverness and her children Glenn Corp and Lane Shaw; Priscilla Fabbri (Carmine), Cranston, RI and her children Bonnie Savella, Kathy Lima and Scott Harrington, all of Rhode Island. Donna Young (Rex), Inverness and her children Eric Hunt of Tennessee and Jackson Hunt, of Florida and a special young man Cameron Coutu. Bill & Tanya helped raise Cameron, now 21, after Bill made a promise to Cameron’s father Joel just before Joel lost his life in a tragic accident when Cameron was an infant. Cameron lives with his mother Rachel Lagasse in Sterling CT. Bill is also survived by several nieces and nephews in addition to those previously listed: Richard’s children: Richard “Rick” Albro, Deborah Brown, Diana Hammond, and Dean Albro, all of California, His grand nieces residing in Florida; Jessica Shaw of Tampa and Annabelle and Amelia Hunt of Gainesville. Life has many twists and turns, people come into our life for a reason or a season, if Bill was a part of your life and not acknowledged here, you know who you are and what you meant to him. Cherish that. He was one of a kind and will be missed. Cremation with Care arranged by Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL. His ashes will be scattered at the Albro homestead in West Greenwich, joining his parents. The family will have a Celebration of Life between Hurricanes this summer.
