Lowell Morton Baker, age 88, Floral City, FL passed away Friday, April 17, 2020 at his home under the care of his loving family and Vitas Hospice. Mr. Baker was born in Bucklin, MO on March 6, 1932 to the late Amil T. and Eller Mae (Bergman) Baker and moved to this area in 2006 from Ft. Myers, FL. Prior to moving to Florida, he resided in Hazel Park, MI. He served our country in the U.S. Navy and was a retired Sales Engineer in the automotive industry, having worked at Orland Gear & Machine Co. in Detroit and retiring from Moore Products Co with 35 years of service. Lowell worshipped at the Inverness Church of God until his health would not permit him to do so.
Left to cherish his memory are 6 children: Jeffrey (Elaine) Baker, Farmington Hills, MI; Kevin (Jodi) Baker, Eaton Rapids, MI; Jonathan Baker, Floral City, FL; Deborah Baker, Farmington Hills, MI; Karen (Fredrick) Hite, Rochester Hills, MI; Janet Baker, Sterling Hts, MI; 2 brothers: Amil Baker, Floral City, FL; Edsel Baker, Gainesville, FL; 1 sister: Dorothy Andrews, Oxford, MI; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Cook Baker on May 9, 2011; his brothers, Kenneth and Lloyd and 2 sisters, Maxine Craig and June Weeks.
Celebration of Life Service scheduled on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at 11:00 am (private, family members only please) at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. Private burial will follow
at Florida National Cemetery.
