Curtis Dean Barfels of Floral City, FL passed away at his home on March 7, 2020 at the age of 67. Curtis was born on July 26, 1952 in Grundy Center, IA to Nadine (Shuey) Barfels and the late Charles Barfels. On April 1st of this year he would have celebrated 14 years of loving marriage with his wife Tamara “Tammy” Barfels. Curtis and Tammy made Citrus County their home in July of 2019 after relocating from Kingston Springs, TN. Prior to retirement, he was the Plant Manager for Wright Industries in Nashville, TN. A Christian by faith, he attended worship services at First Presbyterian Church of Inverness. In his spare time, Curtis enjoyed woodworking, bike riding, boating, fishing and hiking. He absolutely adored his wife and loved spending time with her and doing many activities with her.
In addition to his loving wife Tammy, those left to mourn Curtis’ passing include his sons: Casey Barfels (Carrie) of Appleton, WI, Wayne Barfels (Shawn) of Waterloo, IA; stepsons: Nickolas Folkerts of Des Moines, IA, Benjamin Martell (Andrea) of Castle Rock, CO; stepdaughters: Emily Folkerts of St. Petersburg, FL, Jessika Klaus (Paul) of Aurora, CO, Angela Martell of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers: Steve Barfels (Vicki), Chuck Barfels (Diane), Don Barfels (Diane), Troy Barfels (Terri); sister, Sharon Cisewski (Wayne) of Mosinee, WI; and several grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness. Cremation care by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
