Willa Joyce Hutchins, of Inverness, FL passed away while under the loving care of her family and Vitas Hospice Healthcare in Lecanto, FL on December 1, 2019 at the age of 86. Willa was born to the late John Theron and Della Pearl (Decker) Merrill on October 14, 1933 in Elsie, NE. She was married to Clement C. Hutchins for 41 years until his passing on January 18, 1993. Willa was employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs for 17 years as a Medical Secretary.
Willa enjoyed gardening and planting beautiful flowers, crocheting, doing wood crafts, and especially, reading her Bible and spending time in God’s Word. She also loved spending time with and spoiling all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Along with Willa’s parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicky J. Huddleston and her two sisters, Barbara O’Dea and Elsie Kerchall.
Those left to mourn Willa’s passing include her sons: Arthur A. Hutchins, John T. Hutchins, Richard E. Hutchins; daughter: Brenda J. Hosier; brother, Richard Merrill; sister: Marilyn Koelmel; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance for Willa is scheduled for Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Ballard of Calvary Chapel officiating. Friends may join the family in visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Following the service, Willa will be laid to rest with her husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Arrangements under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
