Cornelius Patrick Sheehan, of Hernando, passed away November 6, 2019 at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto at the age of 77. Cornelius was born in Bronx, NY on January 16, 1942 to the late Cornelius and Bridget (Feeney) Sheehan and served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He went on to work as an investment banker for Citibank retiring from them after 56 years. Cornelius made Citrus County, FL his home in 1996 after relocating from New York and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills. He was an Altar Server and responsible for the traveling vocational chalice for the church. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and was past Grand Knight of Council # 6168, where he also served as the Vocation Ministry Director. Cornelius will be remembered as a very kind and generous man that always had a smile on his face and truly loved others.
Cornelius is survived by his wife of 10 years, Filipinas “Pearl” Santillan; son, Cornelius Sheehan; stepson, Dennis Santillan and his wife Michele; stepdaughters: Dr. Anna Marie Santillan-Mamaril and her husband Blas, Lourdes Townsend and her husband John, Suzanne Williams and her husband Shawn; brother, Thomas Sheehan and his wife Charlotte; sister, Barbara Pinella and her husband Salvatore; and grandchildren: Lauren Mamaril, Nicholas Williams and Julianna Santillan. Cornelius was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Sheehan.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM from Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr., Cesar Petilla, Celebrant. Visitation will be held at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness on Monday, November 11, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A service will be offered during the visitation at 4:00 PM by the Knights of Columbus Council 6168. Cornelius will be laid to rest at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
