Carl Henry (Chip) Wiggs, Jr., age 68, passed away November 5, 2019, after a brief battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Connie Wiggs, and his nephew David Richbourg.

He leaves behind four sisters, Connie Kauffman (Rusty), Catherine Wiggs, Cindy Williams (Terry), and Carol Bumpers (Philip). He is also survived by the following nieces and nephews: Chris Williams (Adrean), Eric Williams (Sharon), Jennifer McDevitt (Neal), Rebecca Myers (Daryl), Clay Bumpers (Ashley), Payton Bumpers, Conor Bumpers (Kayla), along with numerous great- nieces and nephews.

Chip was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on June 1, 1951. He was raised in Montgomery, Alabama, and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1969. He also graduated from John Patterson Technical College as a systems analyst.

Chip was a certified scuba diver, and enjoyed diving in some of the most beautiful waters in the world. He worked at Saint George’s Lodge in Belize as a scuba instructor for several years.

He retired to Floral City, Florida, where he resided until his death.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date, as his wishes were to have his ashes scattered over the beautiful waters of Belize.

Some of Chip’s greatest loves were his cats, who were like his children. A donation to your favorite animal shelter or rescue would certainly be appreciated.
