Michael G Kushaney

Michael George Kushaney, of Inverness, FL went home to be with his Lord and Savior at Vitas Healthcare Hospice in Lecanto, FL on October 18, 2019. He was 85 years old. Born in Auburn, NY on May 26, 1934, he was one of eight children. Michael proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marines Corps and was a Korean War Veteran. Following his military service, Michael worked for the Steel Industry. In 1960, he married Jennie (Albu) with whom he shared 59 years of loving marriage. Michael and Jennie made Florida their home in 1989 after relocating from Ohio. He enjoyed watching The Shepherds Chapel on television. Michael also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and enjoyed playing the accordion and harmonica. He was an extremely hard worker and his family considered him the original “McGyver” since he could repair and fix anything. Michael will be remembered as a loving husband and wonderful father.

In addition to his wife Jennie, those left to mourn Michael’s passing include his son, Michael Kushaney, (Michele) of Haslet, TX; daughter, Lisa Kushaney of Knoxville, TN; granddaughter, Lisa Coleman of Las Vegas, NV; and great granddaughter, Gianna of Las Vegas, NV. He will also be remembered by his dear friend, William “Al Capone” Smith of Knoxville, TN.

Michael will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at a later date. Cremation care provided by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
