Dale Eugene Horn, of Inverness, FL and formerly of Clearwater, FL passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital on October 15, 2019. He was 93 years of age. Dale was born in Loudonville, OH to the late Herman and Harriet May (Lebkisher) Horn on September 15, 1926. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1944 to 1969, having attained the rank of Master Sergeant. Dale was a Veteran of World War II, the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. After his military service, Dale went to work for the State of Colorado as a Computer Programmer. On April 25, 1975 he married the love and light of his life, Sonja (Van Moorsel) with whom he shared 44 years of loving marriage. Dale and Sonja enjoyed going out dancing and spending time together. He was a member of American Legion Post 7 in Clearwater, FL and a member of the Scottish American Society. Dale will be remembered as a kind father and loving husband that was extremely dedicated to his wife.
In addition to his wife Sonja, those left to mourn Dale’s passing include his son, Robert Horn of Rancho Palo Verdes, CA; stepdaughters: Judy Doyle of Inverness, FL, Joyce Ehler of Albuquerque, NM, Janet Plinski of Minnesota; brother, Darl Horn of Mechanicsburg, PA; sister, Barbara Sylte of Cleveland Heights, OH; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Per Dale’s wishes, there will be no services. Cremation care by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
