Alvina Ruth Flanagan, age 84, of Floral City, FL passed away while under the care of Vitas Hospice in Lecanto on August 18, 2019. Alvina was born on August 1, 1935 in Cincinnati, OH to the late William and Flossie Frye. She was married to Kenneth Flanagan for 40 years until his passing in 1994. Alvina and her family made St. Petersburg, FL their home in 1956 after relocating from Cincinnati and then settled in Floral City in 1980. A Christian by faith, she was a devoted member of the First Christian Church of Inverness. Alvina loved going to church for worship. In her spare time she enjoyed playing the organ at home and taking day trips with her husband.
Those left to mourn Alvina’s passing include her sons: Kenneth Flanagan of Floral City, Curtis Flanagan and his wife Connie of Floral City, Paul Flanagan of Inverness; stepson, Barry; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Alvina was preceded in death by her son, Michael in 2015, stepson, Tommy in 1979 and two brothers and three sisters. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
