Irene Charlotte Goetz, age 95, of Homosassa, FL passed away at the Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River on August 1, 2019. Irene was born in Vilshofen, Germany to the late Max and Mary (Dobler) Hoefler. She immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of 5. Irene was married to John Goetz for 68 years until his passing on June 26, 2011. She and John made Florida their home in 1989 after relocating from Middleburg, NY. Irene was a Catholic by faith and faithfully said her prayers every night before going to bed. She loved playing Bingo and Canasta. For a number of years, Irene and her husband enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas and Biloxi.
Those left to mourn Irene’s passing include her devoted niece, Mary Ann (Ken) Vantine; grand nieces: Meghan Vantine, Heather (Tim Webb) Vantine; loving nephew: Leonard Hoefler; and great nieces: Harper Webb, Ruth Webb. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her stepson Ronald in 2011 and by three brothers and two sisters. Cremation care provided by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
