Hazel M Scheer

Hazel M. Scheer, 80, of Homosassa, FL passed away July 19, 2019 at her residence in Homosassa. She was born in London, England on July 17, 1939 to the late Anthony and Emily Mary (Collier) Mariner. Hazel was a book keeper in the healthcare industry, and arrived in this area in 2002, coming from Malverne, NY. Hazel loved volunteer work. She volunteered and was a member of the Elks Lodge #1515 in Lynbrook, NY, and the Elks Lodge #2693 in Homosassa. Hazel also volunteered for the food bank, and was “Queen Mum” of the Red Hats. She had been a Cub Scout den mother, and most of all, was extremely proud of her U.S. citizenship. Hazel is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Frederick J. Scheer. She is also survived by her children, Andrew Scheer and his wife Laura of Lords Valley, PA, Susan Conway of Homosassa, Michael Scheer of Pooler, GA, and Arleen Spiegel of Homosassa; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
