Joseph Raymond O’Malley, age 89, a resident of Hernando, FL and Columbus, OH, passed away at Bayfront Health at Seven Rivers Hospital in Crystal River, FL on June 12, 2019. Joseph was born on June 24, 1929 in Columbus, OH to the late Joseph and Katherine (Nagy) O’Malley.
He proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard for 2 years. Joseph was an Electrical Foreman by trade and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He was married to his wife Joan for 67 years. Joseph and Joan became “Snowbirds” in 1990, traveling from Ohio to spend the winter months in Florida. He loved animals and liked keeping and training harness horses.
In addition to his loving wife Joan, Joseph is survived by his son, Mark O’Malley of Clearwater; daughters: Patty Kinsey of Texas, Carol Thompson and Susan Griffin of Columbus, OH; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Cremation care is under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
