Carmen Julia Rodriguez, age 79, Inverness FL passed away June 1, 2019 at the Vitas Hospice House in Lecanto. Carmen Julia was born on March 21, 1940 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, to the late Gabriel and Maria Perez Albarran. She and her husband, Luis, moved to Florida in 2002 from Waukegan, IL.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband of 60 years, Luis A. Rodriguez; 3 sons, Ruben Rodriguez, Chicago, IL; Ivan Rodriguez, Inverness, FL; Luis A. Rodriguez, Jr., Waukegan, IL; 2 daughters, Maria Elena Fernandez, St. Cloud, FL; Eneida Bermudez, Boynton Beach, FL; 5 brothers: Angel, Rene, Benny, Gabby, and Jessie Albarran; 3 sisters: Mercedes Soto, Lucy Munoz, and Esther Gonzalez; 10 grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Carmen Julia was gifted as a seamstress, florist, gardener and most of all a wonderful cook. She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and shared her faith through caring for others. She was a woman who knew no stranger, friendly, outgoing and a heart for those in need. When you entered her home there was always a smile and a plate of food. Carmen Julia was infamous for her Puerto Rican “pasteles”, people would come from miles around to buy her wonderful homemade food! She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and woman of God!
There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, June 4th at 11:00 AM. at Calvary Chapel on 960 South US Hwy 41 in Inverness, FL. Her daughter, Maria Elena Fernandez and other family members and friends will officiate. Burial will follow in Hills of Rest Cemetery, Floral City, FL. Following the burial, a reception will be held at the Calvary Chapel Fellowship Hall. Arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL
