Therese C. Daigneault, age 95, of Lecanto, FL passed away at Brentwood Health Care Center on May 26, 2019 with her daughters, Lorraine and Janet, and grandson, Stephen Rymszewicz, by her side. Therese was born to the late Amedee and Aurore (Masse) Hamel on January 23, 1924 in New Bedford, MA. She was a talented seamstress and worked in clothing manufacturing throughout her life. Therese was married to Alfred Daigneault for 59 years until his passing on June 13, 2005. She and Alfred made Citrus County their home in 2003 after relocating from New Bedford, MA. A Catholic by faith, she was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness. In her spare time Therese loved to garden and tend to her roses. She also enjoyed playing cards and board games with her family. Therese was a great cook and had enjoyed making New Year’s Day meals for her entire family for a number of years. She will be remembered as a wonderful loving mother, grandmother and sister.
Those left to mourn Therese’s passing include her daughters: Lorraine Rymszewicz of Floral City, FL, Janet Hodson and her husband Paul of New Bedford, MA; sister, Doris Hargraves of Wildwood, FL; grandchildren: Stephen, Paul II, Victoria; and great grandchildren: Colin, Derik, Megan, Robert. In addition to her husband Alfred, she was preceded in death by her son in law, Stephen Rymszewicz; brothers: Robert, Raymond, Rudolph; and sisters: Lillian, Alida, Claire, Irene, Noella.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness with Father Claudius Mganga, Celebrant. Following the mass, Therese will be laid to rest with her husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
