Michael Peter Day, age 75, of Hernando, FL passed away at Vitas Healthcare in Lecanto, FL on April 12, 2019. Michael was born in Boston, MA to the late Walter and Dorothy Elaine (Andrews) Day on October 4, 1943. He was a Police Officer for the town of Milton Massachusetts for 30 years. On September 17, 1971 he married Judith (Marinucci) with whom he shared 47 years of loving marriage. After retiring from the police force, Michael and Judith made Hernando, FL their home in 1997 to escape the cold winter weather. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and was a fan of sports, especially NASCAR, the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Michael also liked muscle cars.
In addition to his loving wife Judith, those left to mourn Michael’s passing include his son, Christopher Day and his wife Melissa of Lecanto, FL; daughter, Amanda Day of Hernando, FL; sister, Margot Driscoll and her husband David of Pembroke, MA; and grandchildren: Jaidyn and Isaiah. Michael was preceded in death by his son Michael Andrew Day in 2007. Cremation care provided by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
