Richard “Dick” Gardner, 88, of Inverness, FL passed away March 26, 2019 under the care of Pleasant Grove Manor in Inverness. He was born in Buffalo, NY on April 13, 1930 to the late Merle F. and Flora (Wiseman) Gardner. Dick was a Project Coordinator for Union Carbide Chemical Company for 25 years, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He arrived in this area in 1989, coming from Buffalo, and attended the 1st United Methodist Church of Inverness. He was a past Master of the Levant Masonic Lodge #967, F&AM, and a 40 year member of the American Bowling Congress. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marlene Gardner. Other survivors include his children Richard M. Gardner and his wife Cynthia of Olean, NY, and Kim B. Kern and her husband Rick of Inverness; and 2 grandchildren, Matthew Collins, and Amy Gardner. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Dick will be held at a later date. Private cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
