Alta May Ward, 68 of Inverness, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. Alta was born on June 15, 1950 in Truthville, NY, to the late George R. and Jennie C. (Brown) Holcomb. She came to Citrus County in 1990 from Ft. Ann, NY.
Alta enjoyed collecting Christmas décor, especially snowmen. She loved Christmas and anticipated the holidays every year. Alta was devoted to her Shih Tzu, Maggie.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Brian R. Ward of Inverness; her brothers: George Holcomb and Richard Holcomb both of Hartford, NY and Jeffery Hartford of Poultney, VT; her sister, Lucy Perkins of Wofford Heights, CA; step children: Michael of Hernando, Mark of Vermont, Cheryl Abbott of Hernando, Kim and Debbie of Vermont. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy in 1997 and her companion James Ryle in 2014.
Cremation with Care is under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory in Inverness.
