Eugene R. Richardson, age 83, of Hernando, FL passed away at his home on January 3, 2019 while surrounded by his loving family. Eugene was born on August 4, 1935 in Boston, MA to the late Randolph and Viva (White) Richardson. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard and went on to perform crash fire equipment maintenance as a civilian for the United States Air Force.

He was married to Barbara (Pottle) Richardson until her passing in December of 1998. He made Citrus County, FL his home 20 years ago after relocating from Seabrook, N.H. Eugene was a former member of the Newbury Port, MA Masonic Lodge. He was an extremely talented builder and craftsman that completely restored a nine room home for his family while residing in Maine. After retirement, he enjoyed tinkering in his garage. He also used to enjoy water skiing, diving and boating while residing in Maine.

Those left to mourn Eugene’s passing include is son, Dean Richardson of Titusville, FL; daughter, Dorothy “Dodie” Webb of Hernando, FL, Yvonne Altman and her husband Gary of Titusville, FL; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife Barbara, Eugene was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Joyce Richardson and his son-in-law, Richard Webb.

Friend’s are invited to join Eugene’s family in visitation at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Following the visitation, Eugene will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL where full military honors will be rendered by the Floral City VFW #7122 Honor Guard. The procession to the cemetery will depart from the funeral home at 12:15 PM.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
