Kelly Leigh McAllister, age 55, of Hernando, passed away at her home on January 2, 2019. Kelly was born in Tampa, FL on June 3, 1963 to Richard and Joyce (Baldt) Howard. She graduated from John I. Leonard High School in 1981 and went on to serve her country as a member of the United States Air Force. Kelly was very athletic in her youth and won 12 letters for her achievements in sports and 2 for chorus. In 1980, she was the 2nd highest ranked female high school runner in the State of Florida and was also a skilled soccer and softball player.
She was married to Tim McAllister for 26 years until his passing on October 25, 2018. Kelly and Tim made Citrus County, FL their home in 2007 after relocating from West Palm Beach, FL. She was a bartender for the Inverness VFW #4337 for a number of years and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Those left to mourn her passing include her sons: Timothy McAllister, II of Hernando, FL, Tommy McAllister of Dunnellon, FL; daughter, Tori McAllister of Hernando, FL; her parent’s, Richard and Joyce Howard of Palm Springs, FL; brothers: Lance Kevin Howard of Palm Springs, FL, Richard Keith Howard and his wife Pam of Jessup, GA; and grandsons, Timothy Paul McAllister, III and Amari Brathwaite, and their mother, Shannon Liepke. Kelly was preceded in death by her daughter, Tera McAllister on February 9, 2013.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place at the Inverness VFW #4337 at a later date. Cremation care is under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
