Dirk P Kunne

Dirk Philip Kunne, age 90, of Beverly Hills, FL passed away at his home on January 2, 2019 surrounded by his loving family and while under the care of the Citrus County Chapter of HPH Hospice Healthcare. Dirk was born in Amsterdam, Holland on October 27, 1928 to the late Hendrik and Jacoba (Bood) Kunne. He was married to Nina Kunne until her passing on August 29, 2009. Dirk retired from the Illinois Tool works as their Senior Design Engineer. He was a self taught Mechanical and Electrical Engineer who enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening and working outdoors. Dirk designed and built his own sailboat, “The Screaming Dutchman”. He and his wife Nina made Citrus County, FL their home in 1995 after relocating from Arlington Heights, IL.
Left to mourn Dirk’s passing is his son, Richard Kunne and his wife Margaret of Beverly Hills, FL. In addition to his wife and parent’s, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Dirk will be laid to rest to rest with his wife at Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove, IL at a later date. No local services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
