Daniel Martin Penix, age 83, of Inverness, FL passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital on Friday, December 14, 2018. Daniel was born in Ashland, KY on July 25, 1935 to the late Sam and Louis (Daniel) Penix. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Following his military service, he worked as a Plumber and owned and operated a plumbing business in Venice, Sarasota County, FL before making Citrus County his home in 1977. On November 15th, 1956 he married Kathryn (McKinney). They shared 57 years of loving marriage until her passing on July 26, 2014. In his spare time, Daniel loved to tinker and build stuff around the house. He also liked collecting and polishing unusual rocks and stones.
Those left to mourn Daniel’s passing include his daughter, Pamela Tuten and her fiancé Joe of Inverness, FL; son, Martin L. Penix and his wife Renatta of Cocoa Beach, FL; grandchildren: Heather Tuten and Joshua Tuten; and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister.
Daniel’s will be laid to rest with his wife at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at a later date. Cremation care is provided by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
