Walter Glen Shelton, Jr., age 65, of Inverness, passed away at his home on Monday, December 10, 2018. Walter was born in Manchester, TN to the late Walter Glen and Elburta (Matlock) Shelton. On August 14, 1974 he married Sheryl “Sherry” Shelton with whom he shared 44 years of loving marriage. Walter and Sherry made Citrus County their home in 1977 after relocating from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In his spare time he enjoyed riding his 1977 Harley Sportster and bicycling with his friends. Walter loved his grandchildren and enjoyed taking them out on his boat and spending time with them.
In addition to his loving wife Sherry, those left to mourn Walter’s passing include his son, Scott Glen Shelton and his wife Jessica of Inverness; daughter, Amy Shelton of Inverness; sisters: Barbara Clifton of Inverness, Rose O’Connor and her husband Joe of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Billy Brown of Inverness; and his precious grandchildren: Dylan, Emily, Kenzey and Lilly.
A Celebration of Walter’s life is scheduled for Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness. Friends may join Walter’s family in visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. His family would like friends to share their favorite memory or story of Walter, at the service. Arrangements are under direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
