Francis J Du Ponte

Francis J. Du Ponte, 96, of Lecanto, FL passed away December 1, 2018 under the care of Vitas Healthcare IPU in Lecanto. He was born in Taunton, MA on April 8, 1922 to the late Joseph and Mary (Pimentel) Du Ponte. Francis was a telecommunications manager for Verizon, and arrived in this area in 1984, coming from Revere, MA. He was Roman Catholic by faith, and loved spending time with family and friends. Francis was preceded in death by his wife of 77 years, Florence Du Ponte in 2017, and his daughter June Marie Du Ponte in 2005. He is survived by his son Michael Du Ponte of Lutz, FL; 2 brothers and 4 sisters. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Suncoast Hospice. Private cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
