Hugh Bass Winfrey, 93, of Crystal River, FL passed away November 4, 2018 at Palm Gardens Health and Rehab in Orlando, FL. Hugh served our country honorably in the U.S. Army, and was a sales engineer in the machine tools industry.
He arrived in this area in 1997, coming from Tennessee and was Protestant by faith. Hugh was a big HAM radio enthusiast and loved spending time on the radio.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 60 years, Mary H. Winfrey in 2015. Survivors include his children Mark Winfrey and his wife Eileen of Orlando, and Brenda Curington and her husband Chip of Tampa, FL; one sister, Jane Headrick; and 3 grandchildren.
Hugh’s urn will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fl at a later date. Cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
