Ivar Emil Johnson, age 79, of Inverness, FL passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital on Thursday, November 1, 2018. Ivar was born on November 13, 1938 in Warwick, R.I. to the late Johan and Ruth Johnson.
He was a Mechanical Engineer for the Nuclear/Clean Energy Industry throughout his professional career. Ivar made Citrus County, FL his home 12 years ago after relocating from Miami, FL. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, “tinkering” in his garage and going to the gun range. He also loved cars of all types.
Those left to mourn Ivar’s passing include his wife and companion of 30 years, Theresa Talamo; son, Carl Ivarson and his wife Heidi Echols of Greensboro, N.C.; daughters: Deborah Johnson of Dumont, N.J., Rebecca Johnson of Boston, MA, Kathy Johnson and her husband Wayland Robinson of Leicester, N.C.; stepsons: Thomas Hadlow of Tomball, TX, Todd Hadlow and his wife Melinda of Oswego, N.Y.; stepdaughter, Tammy Garcerella and her husband Ambie of Oswego, N.Y.; grandchildren: Kassidy, Sophia, Skyler, Roxanne, Terra, Amber, Tia; and 4 great grandchildren.
There will be a gathering of Ivar’s friends and family from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Inverness VFW Post #4337, 906 FL Highway 44, Inverness, FL 34450.
