Darlene DeWitt, age 80, of Inverness, FL, passed away October 29, 2018 at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Darlene was born on June 2, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Robert and Caroline (McDonald) Lewis and was the wife of Harry F. DeWitt.
She made Citrus County, FL her home in 1992 after relocating from Anaheim, CA. Prior to retirement, she was a Judicial Assistant for the Honorable Judge Barbara Gurrolla. Darlene was a member of the Alabama, Florida, California and National Legal Secretaries Associations, as well as the Marion County Legal Secretaries Association. She participated in the Guardian Ad Litem program, was a member of the Inverness Women’s Club, the Citrus Hills Women’s Club and the Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club. Darlene is also a past Secretary and Treasurer of the Selina Hills Homeowners Association.
In addition to her husband Harry, those left to mourn Darlene’s passing include her daughter, Jackie M. Russell; stepsons: Garry and Glenn DeWitt; stepdaughter, Virginia L. Armstrong; and several grandchildren. Cremation care is under direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
