Christine A Davies

Christine Ann (Mitchell) Davies, passed away in Homosassa, on Friday, September 7, 2018, at the age of 60. She was born on August 6, 1958 in Bolton, England, to Frank and Barbara (Hodgkinson) Mitchell. She was the much loved and adored wife of Andrew Davies. They were together for 42 years. They left England in 1980 when married at 21 years old and first lived in Toronto, Canada. In 1988 they moved to the USA living in Boston and then for many years lived in Glen Rock and Mahwah, New Jersey before moving to Homosassa in 2015. They became US citizens in 2001. In addition to her husband Andrew she is survived by her father Frank, her sister Kathleen, her brother David and several nieces, nephews and in-laws in England.

Never has there been a person more kind and giving, she loved dogs, she loved people, and had many many friends. She cared deeply about people, everything else was just stuff. Christine loved going to the gym, was passionate about yoga, and working out, loved opera and live theater. A nurse by training, Christine volunteered throughout her life, always giving rather than receiving. She cared for the elderly, was a hospital volunteer, supported battered and abused women, drove for meals-on-wheels, worked with many animal rescue groups, and most recently volunteered at the Homosassa Library, and she loved her reiki group in Homosassa. Christine taught us the meaning of love and joy. We can all benefit from her example, she was an angel on earth.

Christine’s Celebration of Life for family and friends will be conducted on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 3:00 PM, at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory in Inverness, with Fr. Eugene Reuman of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, officiating. Christine would want everyone to wear something colorful and bright like a Hawaiian shirt, and to be sure to applaud at the end of the service to thank her for what she gave to all she touched. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, 2 Shelter Lane, Oakland, NJ 07436.

While we are mourning the loss of Christine, others are rejoicing to meet her in heaven. “Please celebrate my life and do not Mourn! The journey has been most enjoyable.”
