Donald Joseph King, age 85, Inverness passed away August 15, 2018 in Citrus Memorial Hospital. Don was born in Hollis, Long Island, NY on May 11, 1933 to the late Edward J. and Adalaide (Clark) King. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Inverness, the Crystal River Moose Lodge, Citrus County Republican Club, and Chapter 367 of Mended Hearts of Citrus County. He was formerly employed in the maintenance division for Citrus Co. Parks and Recreation and served our country in the U.S. Air Force.
Left to cherish is memory is his wife of 55 years, Millie (Markovich) King; 2 children, Stephen King of So. Brunswick, NJ; Donna (Michael) Plichta of Monroe Township, NJ; 2 step children, John Lebed and Ronald Lebed, both of Stockton, CA; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister, William E. King and Anne Fehervari.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Tom Beaverson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the hour of service. Burial will be at a later date in Florida National Cemetery.
