Marguerite “Mim” Sullivan, 82, Lecanto, FL passed away July 26, 2018 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto, FL following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Mrs. Sullivan was born in Waltham, MA on June 30, 1936 to the late Augustus and Marguerite (Aucoin) Hanlon and came to Florida in 1992 from Londonderry, NH.
She was a retired Registered Nurse, having graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Boston and was employed as a Industrial Nurse for the Digital Corporation with over 20 years of service. Mim was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills where she also served as Parish Nurse and a Eucharistic Minister and active in The Legion of Mary. She also was a member of the Citrus Garden Club, Retired Nurses Association of Florida, and Republican Women’s Club.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Bonnie LaPilla and her husband Jeffrey, Brooksville, FL; Dennis Sullivan, Manchester, NH; Mary Sullivan, Lecanto, FL; 4 brothers, Richard Hanlon, Hudson, MA; James Hanlon, Mapleton, GA: Michael Hanlon, Waltham, MA; and Terrence Hanlon, Hudson, MA; 2 sisters, Jeannine Davis and Mary Louise Hanlon, both of Beverly Hills, FL; 6 grandchildren: Caila Norton, Alexis Catania, Erica Catania, Thomas Sullivan, Allison Sullivan, and Lauren Sullivan; 2 great grandchildren, Evelyn Obstfeld and Avery Norton; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John J. Sullivan on Nov. 8, 2015. They were married 56 years. Also preceded by 3 brothers, Paul, Maurice, and John.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM from Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Fr. Cesar Petilla, celebrant. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
