Walter Edward Strache, Jr., age 82, of Inverness, FL passed away at his residence while under the care of Hospice of Citrus and Nature Coast on June 28, 2018. Walter was born on January 26, 1936 in Chicago, IL to the late Elizabeth (Weidlich) and Walter Edward Strache, Sr.
He was married to his wife Delores (Psenicka) for 63 years and was Lutheran by faith. Walter was Plant Manager for Crouse-Hinds until his retirement in 1998. He and Delores made Inverness, FL their home in 1999 after relocating from Baldwinsville, N.Y. Walter was a member and past Exalted Ruler of the Inverness Elks Lodge #2522 from 2004 to 2005. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife.
In addition to his loving wife, those left to mourn Walter’s passing include his children: Walter “Duke” Strache and his wife Karen, Lee Strache and her husband Mark Windhausen, all of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; brother, Edmund; sisters: Sharon and Frances; and grandchildren: Ceara and Skyler Windhausen.
Cremation care is under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
