Homer Phillips, 88, of Dunnellon, FL passed away May 16, 2018 under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto, FL. He was born in Delta, AL on May 5, 1930 to the late Thomas G. and Mattie (Epperson) Phillips.
Homer was a U.S. Army veteran, and a school systems Maintenance Superintendent. He arrived in this area in 1997, coming from Largo, FL and attended the First Baptist Church of Dunnellon. Homer was very creative and resourceful. He loved building and working with his hands, enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening, and was a member of the Star Lodge #78, F& AM in Largo.
Homer was preceded in death by his loving wife Joyce Jeanette Phillips in 2006, one daughter, Cynthia Adams. He is survived by his children, Timothy James Phillips of Seminole, FL, Bruce Phillips and his wife Michelle of Huntsville, AL, and Debra L. Creekbaum and her husband Randy of St. Petersburg, FL; brother Royce Phillips; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Homer are scheduled for Tuesday, 1:00 P.M. at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park in Largo. Arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
