Janina “Jean” Feranchuk, age 93, of Inverness, FL, passed away at her home on April 11, 2018. Jean was born on September 27, 1924, in New York, N.Y. to the late Wincenty and Helen Kodzis.
She was employed as a Seamstress in the Garment District of New York and was also a homemaker. A Catholic by faith, Jean made Citrus County, FL, her home in 1988 after relocating from West Hampton, N.Y. She was an avid reader since childhood and enjoyed working in her garden and caring for her roses. Jean also had a talent for growing African Violets.
Those left to mourn Jean’s passing include her children: Johanna Foster of Inverness, FL, John Feranchuk of Steinhatchee, FL, Jayme Feranchuk of Inverness, FL, Janina Tayler of Danville, CA; and several cousins. Jean was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Kodzis. Cremation care is under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
