Michael David Lentell, age 65, of Inverness, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Michael was born on July 10, 1952, in Canton, MA to the late Vaughan Palmer and Joy Doris (Tougas) Lentell.
He made Citrus County his home in 2006 after relocating from Cape Cod, MA. Michael was a concrete construction carpenter throughout his lifetime. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Hyannis, MA, the Moose Lodge of Yarmouth, MA, and the Homosassa Eagles and the Beverly Hills VFW. Michael enjoyed spending time on the water, especially the Homosassa River. He liked playing pool and loved a good game of horseshoes. Michael was known to always have a smile on his face, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed being a practical joker. He was a loving, creative and generous father, grandfather, uncle and brother and according to his grandson, he had a heart of gold.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Andrea (Arthur) Joia of Inverness, Sheila (Eric) Barbosa of Kingston, MA and Suzanne (Jack) Eggleston of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA; his brother, Stephen (Linda) Lentell of Naples, FL; sisters Denise (Charles) Gist of Inverness, Joy (Chet) Anderson of Weeki Wachee, FL and Michelle Davis of Minnesota; his 6 grandsons: D.J., Jordan, Preston, Talon, Logan and Evan; his nephews: Stephen (Kim) Lentell, Sean Lentell and Brian (Katherine) Lentell; former wife and the mother of his children, Helen Lentell, and his loving life partner, Marlene Mahan.
A celebration of Michael’s life, with family and close friends, will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 1:00 PM in Inverness, FL. Cremation care is under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
