James M. Hartley, 84, of Inverness, FL passed away March 20, 2018 at his residence in Inverness. He was born in Philipsburg, PA on December 11, 1933 to the late Ernest Wilson and Marjorie (Perks) Hartley.
James served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a serviceman for several telephone companies, including Bell Telephone, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies. James arrived in this area in 1993, coming from Norristown, PA, and was a Protestant by faith. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, camping and spending time outdoors.
James was preceded in death by one brother, Robert W. Hartley, and one sister, Virginia Weiss. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marie Hartley. Other survivors include his children Jack Scott Hartley and his wife Holly of Inverness, James M. Hartley and his wife Karen of Bensalem, PA, Gail Ann Freedman and her husband Phillip of Media, PA, and Susan Bauhof and her husband John of Bensalem; brother John D. Hartley and sister Kathleen Rainear; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors for James will be held at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL, Monday, April 9, 11:00 A.M. All who wish to go to the cemetery in procession are requested to be at the funeral home no later than 10:00 A.M.
