Daniel Arthur Young, age 59, of Inverness, FL, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Citrus Health and Rehabilitation Center, Inverness. Dan was born on January 14, 1959, in Jacksonville, FL, and was adopted shortly thereafter to the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Butler) Young.
He graduated high school in Massachusetts and later served in the United States Navy. Dan later moved by to Homosassa, FL, where he worked as a car salesman. He was a member of both the Eagles and Moose Clubs of Homosassa. Dan was a Christian by faith and attended worship services at Hernando United Methodist Church, Hernando, FL. He enjoyed sports, entertaining friends, and will be remembered for his beautiful singing voice and his renditions of “My Way” and “New York, New York” during karaoke. He recently had his right leg amputated but, remained in good spirits and was eager to adapt to his new situation. Dan will be missed by all who knew him.
Those left to mourn Dan’s passing include his fiance’ Patsy Burgess and her children, Sarah and Joshua Burgess. He is also survived by his brother, Cary Young of Concord, N.C. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
