John Alexander Stone, age 76, of Inglis, FL, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018, at Shands at UF, Gainesville. John was born on March 13, 1941, in Boston, MA, to the late John August and Esther Newcomb (Small) Stone.
He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy and made Citrus County his home in 1970 after relocating from Cape Cod, MA. After his military service, he was employed as a Mechanic for the Florida Power and Electric Company. On November 10, 1990, John married Sheila (Warren), with whom he shared 28 years of marriage. He is a former volunteer for the Park Service, a member of the Sand Gnats of Inglis, FL, and a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association.
In addition to his loving wife Sheila, those left to mourn John’s passing include his son, Kyle J. Androski and his wife Brandie of Bronson, FL; daughters: Kendra L. Androski of Crystal River, FL, Tracy A. Cone of Crystal River, FL, Tonya Kay Stone of New Port Richey, FL; brother, Tim Stone and his wife Bev of Orono, ME; and grandchildren: Cody Stayler, Jared Barns and Seth Cox.
A graveside service with full military honors is scheduled for Friday, April 13, 2018, at 10:00 AM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. The family requests that those wishing to attend the service, arrive at the cemetery promptly at 10:00 AM. Following the graveside service, a memorial will follow at the Inglis Community Center, Inglis, FL. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
