John Michael “Mike” Bresnahan, age 80, of Lecanto, FL, passed away March 4, 2018, at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Lecanto. Mike was born on December 27, 1937, in Syracuse, N.Y. to the late Robert and Evelyn (LaBrake) Bresnahan.
He was married to Renie (Turner) until her passing on November 30, 2013. Mike made Citrus County his home in 1973 after relocating from Miami, FL, and worked as a Crane Operator in the Construction Industry. He greatly enjoyed classic hot rods and going to the Citrus County races on Saturday nights. Mike could be very mischievous at times and loved pulling pranks on people. He also liked to stay busy and active and enjoyed doing yard work. He was also very generous by nature and liked helping people, even it if meant giving someone his last penny. Mike especially enjoyed the time he got to spend with his grandchildren.
Those left to mourn Mike’s passing and cherish his memory are his sons: Joseph Bresnahan of Inverness, FL, Phillip Bresnahan and his wife Rhonda of Ecuador; daughters: Brenda Hawthorne and her husband John of Aberdeen, N.C., Deena Sivia and her husband Glenn of Beverly Hills, FL; brothers: Shawn and Roger Bresnahan, both of Ocala, FL; sister, Barbara Wasinski and her husband Ed of Syracuse, N.Y.; and a great many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife Renie, Mike was preceded in death by his son, Pat Bresnahan; sisters: Joan, Diane and Susan; and daughter in law, Renee Bresnahan.
Cremation care is under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
