Mildred Alice Shaut, 91 of Inverness, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast Hospice House in Lecanto, under the loving care of her family and Hospice. Mildred was born on March 23, 1926 in Johnson City, NY to the late Charles and Violet (Relf) Carter, and came to Citrus County in 1987 from Binghamton, NY. She was employed at the Endicott-Johnson Shoe Factory in Johnson City for many years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Inverness.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 71 years, Carl Shaut, Sr; her 3 sons: Carl Shaut, Jr. and his wife Susan of Lecanto, FL, Charles F. Shaut and his wife Helen of Harpursville, NY and Thomas E. Shaut and his wife Theresa of Grand Haven, MI, her 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Edward, Elwood, and Harold Carter.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance for Mildred will be conducted on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 12:30 PM from Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Pfeifer, officiating. Burial will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Friends may call at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness from 11:00 AM until service time.
