Lillian M. Stock, age 87, of Inverness, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Citrus Memorial Hospital with family by her side. Lillian was born in Garden City, NY on July 9, 1930, to the late Frederick and Mae (Mackall) Meinholtz.
Lillian graduated from St. Lawrence University earning her Bachelors Degree in Psychology. She married her late husband in 1958 and settled in Rockville Centre, NY. After raising her children, she returned to the workforce as a teller at Chemical Bank. Through her perseverance and dedication she worked her way into senior management. Twenty two years ago, Lillian relocated to Citrus County which she fondly called her home.
Lillian was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness. Her claim to fame and life long love was tap dancing. She attended and performed at local dance studios. Lillian always gave of herself. She was a volunteer at the Old Citrus County Courthouse Heritage Museum, and was very involved with the Citrus Hills community and her bridge club. When raising her children, she was very active in the PTA and the Girl Scouts. She also volunteered much of her time in the NY and FL blood banks and to local thrift shops. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and a friend to all. She always offered her complete support without judgement. Lillian was a generous, giving and kind spirit.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: David Stock and his wife Diane, of Haddam, CT, Martha Donnelly of Brielle, NJ , Pam Frigo and her husband Gary, of Mendham, NJ, and Hilary Strong of Elmira, NY, along with her 10 grandchildren: Connor, Hannah, Michael, Jake, Kevin, Claire, Fred, Evan, Mia and Liam; her nephews and niece, Mark, Peter and Eileen; her “Florida daughter”, Carline Heston, her dear family friend Enrique Cubillas and her many close friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald, in 2008; brothers: Harry Wheeler and Fritz Meinholtz and sister in law, Miriam Wheeler.
The Funeral Service of Remembrance for Lillian will be conducted on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness, with Rev. Ron Pfeifer, officiating.
