David A. Saik, age 80, of Inverness, FL, passed away January 29, 2018 at Seven Rivers Hospital, Crystal River, FL. David was born on September 25, 1937 in Spencer, N.Y. to the late Arvid and Aune (Mannisto) Saik.
He married Gloria (Anderson) on August 5, 1978 with whom he shared 40 years of loving marriage. David and Gloria relocated from upstate New York in 1993 and made Winter Haven, FL their home. They relocated to Citrus County in 2005. David worked as a farmer throughout his life and enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking in his spare time.
In addition to his wife Gloria, those left to mourn David’s passing are his daughters: Jacqueline McClaskey and her husband Michael of Sarasota, FL, Sandra Clark of Englewood, FL, Linda Durbin and her husband Dennis of Illinois; sister, Sonja Palomaki of Virginia; grandchildren: Amy, Teagan, D.J., Deanna; and great grandchildren: Madeline, Maddox and Roman. David was preceded in death by brother, Harold Saik and sister, Maryanne Solaski.
Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
