Mary Alice Stanton, 78 of Citrus Springs, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at Diamond Ridge Health & Rehab in Lecanto surrounded by her loving family. Mary Alice was born on May 18, 1939 in Lakeland, Georgia to the late Alvin and Mary Alice (Mathis) Sirmons and moved to Citrus County from St Petersburg, FL in 2003. She was a retired Registered Nurse and a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to her church, North Oak Baptist Church in Citrus Springs, FL.
Mary Alice cherished her family and friends. She enjoyed skiing, sailing, traveling, quilting and crocheting. She also enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and especially her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband: Goodwin G. “Goody” Stanton, Citrus Springs; her daughters: Susan Stanton McAuley and husband David of Gray, TN, Stephanie Stanton Tomlinson and husband Craig of Hudson, IA, and Stacey Stanton Bryant and husband Alan, of Bradenton, FL; brother, Doug Sirmons and wife Kathy, Citrus Springs, FL; sister, Nancy Sirmons, Green Cove Springs, FL; 7 grandchildren: Ryan McAuley, Matthew McAuley, Brandon (Meagan) McAuley, Nathan Tomlinson, Nolan Tomlinson, Alex Bryant, Ashley Bryant; great grandchild, Eli McAuley.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mary Alice will be conducted on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the North Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Stan Stewart officiating. The family wishes to express its appreciation to all of the staff at Diamond Ridge Health & Rehab for their love and kindness to all of us over the past six years. Flowers will be gratefully appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to North Oak Baptist Church.
