Robert I Danley

Robert Irvin Danley, 88, of Hernando, FL passed away January 12 2018 under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto, FL. He was born in Trenton, NJ on December 10, 1929 to the late Horace and Beatrice (Evernham) Danly.

Robert was a bridge tender for the State of Florida, and a U.S. Army WWII veteran. He arrived in this area in 1985, coming from Davie, FL. and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Hernando, as well as the VFW Post #4252 in Hernando. Robert was a very skilled carpenter and stonemason, and a very creative and unique craftsman. He loved fishing and crabbing, and enjoyed golfing and tending to his vegetable garden.

Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife Emma Jean Danley in 2006, and 3 brothers, Donald, Danny, and Elwood Danley. He is survived by his children, Robert Dale Danley and his wife Jill of Stone Mountain, GA, and Sharon Brower and her husband Daniel of Carrabelle, FL; 3 grandchildren, Evan, Marshall, and Caleb; and one great-grandson, Camden Luke.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Tuesday, 1:00 P.M. at Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. John Leaf officiating. Robert’s urn will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, PO Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL is in charge of arrangements.
