Benjamin O. Medrano, 65, of Inverness, FL passed away January 8, 2018 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. He was born in Oxnard, CA on July 4, 1952 to the late Lucio and Socorro (Ochoa) Medrano. Benjamin was a State of California Youth Corrections Officer. He arrived in this area in 2005, coming from Ventura County, CA. He was Presbyterian by faith, and attended the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness.
An accomplished musician, Benjamin enjoyed playing both classical and rock and roll guitar. He loved golfing, and taking trips to visit Disney, and traveling to Ventura to visit family and friends.
Benjamin was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Barbara and Delia. Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Karen J. Medrano. Other survivors include his sisters Virginia Medrano and Alice (Rick) Copeland, both of Ventura CA, and Rosa Guerra of Hanford, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted from the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness on Monday, January 22, 10:00 A.M. with the Rev. Ron Pfeifer officiating. A Reception for family and friends will take place at the church following the service.
A second Celebration of Life will occur in Ventura, CA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to: The First Presbyterian Church of Inverness H.F.H. washer and dryer fund, 206 Washington Ave., Inverness, FL 34450. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, is in charge of arrangements.
