Barbara Marie Ferrick, 90, of Hernando, passed away January 6, 2018 at home under the loving care of her family and Hospice. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 13, 1927 to the late Michael and Barbara (Ridge) Murphy and came to Citrus County in 2009 from Norwood, MA. She was Catholic by Faith.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Susan Gill, of Hernando, FL; Michele “Shelly” Leahy and husband Dick of West Roxbury, MA; Francis J. “Joe” Ferrick and wife Janet of Norwood, MA; Michael Myles Ferrick, of Hernando, FL; Patricia “Patti” Ferrick, of Needham, MA; Gregory G. “Greg” Ferrick and wife Eileen of Holliston, MA; 13 grandchildren: Kristy, Dianna, Michelle, Greg, Pete, Mike, Brendan, Jennifer, Gerard, Dennis, Bridget, Shannon and Shawn; 16 great grandchildren; niece, Barbara Brown (Carter); nephew, William “Bill” Coughlin (Josy); niece, Maureen Coughlin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Joseph “Buddy” Ferrick in 1981, brother John Murphy, sister, Katherine Coughlin and her nephew, Fr. John Murphy.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Saturday, January 13th at 11:00 AM from St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto, with Fr James Johnson, celebrant. An additional Mass will be held at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Norwood, MA. Burial follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA. Chas E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory served the family.
