Florence M. Honea, 81, of Inverness, FL passed away January 3, 2018 under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto, FL. She was born in Jamaica, N.Y. on April 26, 1936 to the late Robert and Pearl (Raddichio) Huscher.
Florence was a school bus driver, and a Baptist by faith. She arrived in this area in 2003, coming from Alpharetta, GA., and loved volunteer work. She volunteered with the Citrus County Sheriff’s office for 15 years, and worked as the Crime Watch Director, C.P. 2. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and in her younger years, loved dancing.
Florence was preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Marvin Honea, 3 sisters, Ruth Cascione, Dorothy Lewis, and Doris Gunther; and 2 step-grandsons, Jeffrey and David Honea. She is survived by her siblings, Robert Huscher, Pearl Kahl and Kenneth Huscher, all of Inverness, Peter Huscher of Delray Beach, FL, William Huscher of Wappinger Falls, NY, Gail Huscher of Oakdale, NY, Rose Fuller of Deerfield Beach, FL, and stepchild Deborah Honea; 1 step grandson, Jeffrey; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Florence will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 3:00 P.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness with Reverend Dr. Doug Alexander officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
