Marilyn K. (Belcher) Whisman, 74 of Floral City, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto. Marilyn was born June 21, 1943 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Donald and Elsie Norma (Reese) Belcher.
Marilyn lived in Ithaca, New York until the age of 13, then moved with her mother to Janesville, Wisconsin. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1961 and attended Downer College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
On November 26, 1966, she married Gerald O. Whisman. They have two children, Jeffrey G. Whisman, born in 1967, of Ft. Worth, TX and Gregory D. Whisman, born in 1969, and his wife Michelle Whisman of Wichita, Kansas. Marilyn and her husband Gerald moved several times because of his job. They made many friends, starting in the Rockford, IL area, on to Bettendorf, IA, Racine, WI, Wichita, KS, and finally retired to Floral City, FL. They celebrated 51 years of marriage on November 26, 2017.
A Celebration of Life Service for Marilyn will be conducted on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11 AM, from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, in Inverness, with Rev. Greg Kell, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 AM until service time.
